Falcon optix

I've got a couple of the Falcon Menace scopes.

They aren't as good as a Night Force or IOR Valdada but they are less than half the price.

The big thing for me with them is that the turret adjustments are positive in both directions.

I can dial in a square and take it back to zero with five shots. This is a biggie with me.

I've got high end Leupolds that can't be depended on to do that. Finding a Burris or Bushnell that will do that consistently and repeatedly is a rare jewel indeed. I've gotten into the habit of tapping the side of the turret modules to make sure they are on track. It's a pain in the butt.

Sending them back for adjustment doesn't help. It's the way they are put together and the parts used that make them work well.

I've owned 4 different Falcon scopes and all of them worked well, were sharp of image, had sharp reticles and were all in the first focal plane.

Their AO is dependable as well.

If you can't afford a high end scope, go for the Falcon. They are good value for the money.

I have had two Falcons.
Both failed me under most unfortunate circumstances.
I would not buy another.

I use them on 22LR rifles as they have good options and the price was good. Plus the parrallax goes down to rimfire ranges. Light transmission is 94% which is decent. They have their use. I would recommend upgrading your optics though for high end stuff.

Their warranty sucks...the website says lifetime warranty but what they don't say is that they've only been doing that for the last 18 months or so. Basically if you don't have a receipt, you don't have a warranty. This is a huge deal when you can spend a little more to buy a Vortex or Leupold and get a better scope and hassle free warranty.

I would like you hear your experience with the scopes, but all I see is your same paragraph cut and pasted into every thread about Falcon..

Just a comment about any warranty - it is much better to never need to use it.
Last summer at NSCC, a new scope (not a FM) fogged up. It did get soaked in the rain. It was replaced under warranty in only two days, the replacement being sent directly to the DCRA office at Connaught. But two days in the middle of national level matches is a loooong time.
Doesn't matter how good a warranty is, it is better to have a scope that doesn't fail.
There have been a number of reports of FM failures here at CGN, the reports coming from credible individuals.
At my shop, I used to sell some bargain priced scopes. Few failed in use. The distributor was very good about replacing them. Stop and think about it - often a no questions asked replacement policy just means that the things are so inexpensive to the distributor that they can afford to write off a percentage, and not even bother with repairs.

Point well taken...but this has only been a recent dilemna. In the past when someone offered a lifetime warranty it had meant the product was built to last for a lifetime...thus building market share based on reputation for quality and service. I am just letting people know about the misleading warranty advertising that Falcon is currently using to promote their scopes and unfairly gain market share. Also to let them know that Nick at Falcon is full of BS when he offers to help but says his hands are tied because of export red tape...if they want to replace anything they can do it through a Canadian distributor.

Agree 100%. It sure seems those optics companies that offer the lifetime and/or free replacement warranties are the ones that require it the most. Go figure.

IMHO...this is a recent trend. I've yet to hear someone say that about Leupold, Bushnell, Vortex, Burris or any other past proven company. I would say that in recent years we've seen a "rash" of new companies offering "Lifetime Warranties" which are a sham using substandard product and factoring in replacement cost losses just to increase sales. In the case of Falcon they've taken it a step further and are advertising that their products have a lifetime warranty without disclosing the fine print which states only scopes made after that decision was made will be covered and those made before that date do not...oh, and it's up to you to prove when it was made.
