here is my new rig for the next season to come...just cant wait for Connaught to open.....

The whole setup weight.....17pounds !!!!! Stock is very light. I could had a lot of meet on the barrel...

thank you guys, she may seem orange depending on light condition but in fact she is more like a dark red.

very nice wood. The padouk got 2250 on the Janka hardness template as maple got 1450 for THE SAME WEIGHT ! This indicator is for wood resistance in general.

depend on the dates, is this at the Borden base ? If so, I was there last year and just cant forget the awesome weekend it was ))) what an awesome range to shoot !! The sound of the firing rifle in the close woods is just great.

you are making me afraid ! What kind of clear are you using ? I'll have to verify with Fred but I think mine is made with a clear based on urethane with a UV protection.

BTW, how do you usaly clear this wood as its hard to fill the wood initially and bubbles everywhere.
 
YIKES this one looks like a new super mouse trap! may have to mix some shotgun powder to RL15 to get close to this rig shooting 200gr + bullets.
Nice build its for sure a beauty, let us know how it shoots.

I will post load development as time pass by. I went to the range yesterday to balance the gun and verify seating depth before playing with powder and its a shooter for sure.....and FAST....really FAST .....really really really FAST.

I'll wait a bit to publish numbers as i'm new to this forum and people may think i'm crazy ))))

BTW, do you have another build for next season ? I heard that you may change "bore size" )))))

I've tried everything....from oil and WB UV polys to acrylics to pre-cat to post cat lacquers, marine finishes, alum oxide finishes.. Hell, even marine gel coats. I've managed to slow the toning in some cases, but eventually they still brown.

as far a laying the clear: ML Campbell pore filler as the first step...it's the best way :)
 
why does Ian get to work ON ALL THE NICE STUFF, I should teach him a lesson and send him some of my junk to work on,


mmm second thought I do, he does nice work, I should take the wrapper off and shoot some of the stuff he has made or me
