What's your experiance with these recoil pads. I want the pre-fit but I've red they don't actually fit on the Marlin's stock that well. Do the slipons stay on pretty good?

I tried the pre fit Limbsaver on the 336 and yes it don't fit right. It was actually too small. What I ended up doing was finding a Remington Supercell that fit pretty much perfect. I just had to drill a new bottom hole in the stock to put it on. There are no gaps and it's not oversized or undersized. I took my rubber pad off my gun with me and matched it up. Spented about 20 mins going through all the pads at Epps and found the Remington one.

The slips ones are ok for the range but it wouldn't be hunting with it as they don't stay on because there not mounted to the gun.

does a 336 in .30WCF actually recoil that hard? mine doesn't

Well, the recoil was fine for the first 20 rds, but by the time I fired the 70th round, I was sore.

I picked up a pre-fit limbsaver and just like most reviews say, it didn't fit. The size is good but the holes don't line up, so I decided to re-drill the stock and make the pad fit. I had to plug the original holes so Im not done yet but I'll post pics when its on.
