Dillon super 1050

I shoot like 2-3000 rouns a year max, total including different kinds.

To be honest at that level reloading probably doesn't make economic sense...
For performance or custom loads it my make sense to load..
If you are loading pistol only an SDB would work..
If you are loading Rifle a 550 is up your alley..

I don't just reload for economic reasons but because it's a hobby to me. I don't really care if it doesn't make sense.
I have a loadmaster right now and it works but I do some steps manually.

I don't want to regret my next press but I want to be able to switch calibers easily and I don't need to overpay for a machine that can do 10000000 gazillion rounds a year, because I sometimes reload just a few hundred rounds (like 500) then switch calibers.
I want casefeeder and auto indexing.
Maybe I'll just get a 650 and then one day if I want to reload massive amounts of one caliber, I guess I'll get a 1050 and keep it on one caliber. Good idea?

Why is the 1050 worth it over the 650xl? (primer swage is not an issue).
I agree with the other posts and - the 1050 has a lot less plastic in it than the 650.
I also hate seating primers on the upstroke. I prefer the consistency of all actions on the downstroke.

Having myself gone from a jammaster to a 1050 (well, 1000 - the 1050 predecessor) - I can assure you it will be like being reborn.

You can get a case feeder for a 550... However once you add auto indexing you are into a 650.. There is/was a kit to get auto-indexing on a 550 but by the time you add the kit to the 550 you are over the price of a 650 the advantage is that the tool heads and conversions for the 550 are slightly cheaper...

the 1050 is overkill for the amount you load.. You will load your years ammo in a little over an hour.. your problem comes in that your press will sit for 364 days a year.. is that good for it?

im not getting a 550
it's between 650 and 1050
but multiple calibers, moderate rounds, and frequent changes point towards a 650
