Did anyone buy optics from Optics Planet?

4Scopes is a seekrit hide away.
I ordered a Zeiss a few hours, maybe a day before a fellow Gummutzs
and he got his before me.
Fed Ex was his delivery and mine should be here early this week.
The tracking shows USPS is the method they used for me.
Last scope that came up for me was sans $$ a la carte.
Definitely a go to place.

Do you get nailed for taxes and brokerage fees? How/where do you pay them? Thanks, Rob

Bought 2 $1500 NF scopes off them when shipping to Canada was as simple as sending an import certificate......had no issues with them at all.

Not here yet.
Maybe tomorrow hopefully.
Will let this thread know when it shows up.
The Sightron SI I bought just before Christmas showed up and
no extra bacha me culo fees attached.
I have my fingers crossed on this one doing the same thing.
I used my Visa and Visa charges 2% I believe for the use of their
card in the U.S. of A.
Something about handling charges converting the currency.

So having them shipped to a US address and then driving over and picking them up might not be a good idea either? Would that be considered export or am I now just importing them :stirthepot2:

Definitely not a good idea. I was trying to get some safety levers worth less than $60 but that are hard to come by. Seller didn't ship to Canada. I wanted to know if a relative in the US could mail them to me so I checked with the US Directorate of Defense Trade Controls and it is a serious offense for anyone other than an exporter registered with the DDTC to export any gun parts, no matter what the value.
If in doubt, email the DDTC Response team DDTCResponseTeam@state.gov who will answer any questions about exporting gun parts from the US. Doesn't matter what CBSA, RCMP, DFAIT, US Customs and Border Patrol, ATF say, it's DDTC that you or the person shipping them out of the US will be in a deep pile of trouble with.

I bought a Sightron 111 6x24-50 last month from 4scopes and am waiting for the snow to go. Had the scope in 5 working days and saved some money. Very easy to deal with and yes, I'll deal with them again.

If you got stopped by US authorities, and they found the scope, it would be confiscated and you could be charged with exporting without a liscence. Apparently they do a check stop on the way out of he US before the border at times. I've never seen it, just rumours I've heard.
