I've got an opportunity to buy an SKB 500 12 gauge 2 3/4" for a really good price. Problem is it's fixed choke Full - Modified.
Any one know for sure if it can have choke tubes installed? Who can I send it to have it done.
What kind of shooting do you do? Open the chokes to modified and improved cylinder and you will be good to go for most shooting. I have guns with choke tubes and I never change them. If the gun is a good price, I wouldn't hesitate to buy it because it didn't have tubes--but, this is just my opinion.
Don't those SKBs have chromed bores?
If you have a few weeks to send it down to Briley, they always do a good job. You can send it through Lawry's Shooting Sports Inc.

Have not seen one yet Briley could not do, chrome bores or not ...
Yup, just takes $$$
Like anything in life you want to play you have to pay. My last 16ga done was about 275 with three tubes by the time I got it back but it was not chrome bore however from what I have read Briley don't see the chrome as a big deal
How long ago was that? I have a 16ga. Model 31 I want to have choke tubed and I have yet to find someone in Canada that can do it.
