When going to pick up a handgun at post office can you call for Att in advance?

Call in advance. If they ask if the delivery notice came, make sure you say yes, otherwise they won't issue the ATT. Also I noticed that if you call the CFO right at 9am when they open, you get a person on the phone instead of the answering machine.

Most people know when they are expecting a package, and you can check the number on the slip, or the tracking number.
It's called due dilligence, and a judge would likely expect you to practice it with regards to restricted firearms.
Trying to play ignorant is not gonna get you anywhere but charged, and likely convicted.
All that said I have been told several times by several people at the CFO's office that "YES" you must call for an ATT.
Guess who the police and crown are gonna rely on for their info on the subject?
Amazing that people still think any different.....

Exactly what I was told by the BC CFO at their Surrey office.
Better be safe than sorry!
It was a 5 minute phone call to get my STATT from them. Lady said wait for it on your e-mail in 10 minutes. After I recieved it, printed it out and went to the Postal Outlet to pick up my restricted.

+1 Best response I have heard on this subject. No judge is going to believe you didn't know what was in the box. I don't know about the rest of you but when I am expecting something I want really bad, I check the status often.
Not sure about other provinces, but in Nova Scotia, they now give only a 1 hour ATT to pick up a firearm at the post office, so you best have the parcel card in your hand and know exactly when you are going. This is BS in my opinion, I was calling one evening to get it for the next day, but didn't know what time I was going to get to the post office, so they wouldn't give me one....I was asking for a four hour window from 1-5PM as I knew it would be sometime in the afternoon.
There is only one legal way they can issue a refusal and that is in writing. Next time tell them to issue a refusal and that you will be seeking a section 74 reference hearing. My money is that they will give you what you want as there is no justification for the refusal.

I just purchased a gun used on EE. The seller called in the transfer, I called in and confirmed. Waited a ridiculously long tome. Got the approval. The seller then called in to get a temporary ATT to ship it in the mail.

You need to call. An ATT is only valid for the person it was issued to, ie the seller in this case.

If she just happens to get the mail there is no mens rea for an offense. If she knows its a gun she has broken the law.

Question guys, when you guys buy online be it a restricted or non-restricted, do you provide your complete info? i.e. name and address? Isnt there a risk of your info being leaked out and potential thieves getting their hands on all your info? Its just a question. For me, personally I prefer buying something in person than online and that goes for everything..
