Two.....I just can`t believe it. I`d buy both of them for that price if they were up here.

Says in description he would like 500 each or 950 for both. What are they selling for up here?

Saw one in a local shop a few weeks ago, $549, so I decided to order a Henry from Cabelas, $289.
Funny thing is I had a chance to buy a used Marlin 39A a number of years ago for $65 and passed on it, been kicking myself on that one.

PM me the number of this "local shop" if it was a Marlin 39 they had kickin around for sale.

The Marlin 39A, the Rolls Royce of .22 lever actions. Not affordable for everyone and unfortunately they keep going up in price. Unless you monitor the EE every 5 minutes to be the first bidder, they go like lightin'. However, you could put a WTB ad in the EE and I've been able to find half a dozen 39's over the years on this site. And if you're a member of rimfire central, you'll quickly find out that the prices here and the U.S. are pretty much the same.

I do have an ad in the EE with a cool little finders fee added. It was the least I could do if someone helped get me one.

Picked up a 39A from 1956 last fall at a local gun show, in fantastic shape, paid $400 (including scope) and at first thought it was a bit high, until we shot it. What a very sweet rifle with a buttery smooth action.

I would not accept one that has been drilled/tapped. Already have a topic going in the "gunsmithing forum" about fixing "these" types of mistakes. Doesn`t sound good at all.
