I just picked up a Mossberg 715t flat top and I'm finding with the peepsight on it I am printing a palm sized 25 round group at 25 yards. Not bad in my opinion problem is it's about 6 inches low. I'll take the blame for that though I am not a fan of peeps. I had already decided to change out the sights so my question is this, red dot or holo? I've even tossed around putting an ACOG on it but find the magnification of a scope makes squirrel hunting in the tight bush a tad difficult. Any and all opinions are welcome. So what do you out think?

Got the same problem with my 715 flattop (shoots low) and the screw cranked all the way up.
I'm considering a shim of some sort to try and take up the slack. I actually bought an inexpensive red dot for it, but when it all showed up the scope was missing from the box! I'm hoping when it's replacement shows up that it'll solve the issue.

I'm glad to see it's not just me. This seems to be an inherent flaw in the rifle. I was putting it on me because peeps and I don't get along well. I honestly can't hit a thing with my old mans Lee Enfield with the classic peeps on it. That is why I said in the op that the 6" low part was on me.
I had the same problem with my carryhandle...but instead of low it shot about 4" to the right with all the adjustment the sights could muster dialed in.

Now at 25m it shoots 2" groups and at 50m it will easily put a full mag in a 5" circle, pulling the trigger as fast as I can.
And they're all spot on the bull.

Took her out again today and after got her dialed in way better. I broke a cardinal rule of anything: never assume. I had made the assumption that the aperature was maxed out for elevation, I was wrong. A little playing later and 50 yards not an issue she'll tear the head off of a zombie splatter target.
