I'm looking at a BRNO ZKW 465 in 22 hornet. It's a nice piece but iron sights only. Some minor marks on the metal from storage and nicks in the wood from having been hunted with. The real kicker is that the stock has been cut down in the past, then lengthened later on and despite being reasonably well done, it's noticeable and I have to suspect takes a lot away from the value. It belonged to a friend who has since passed away and I can but it if I want, all the family asks is that I pay a fair value for the gun. Any idea what it's worth????

One just sold for $650 in better condition... I don't think you would be robbing their pockets in paying $4-500... Not being able to see the gun is a handicap in pricing... It IS a nice firearm.

Has it been fired a lot?
These rifles tend to develop some extra headspace if they have been used extensively.
The altered stock makes it's value drop a bit, for sure.

Here's a couple pics of the BRNO....

Easy enough to cut off the add-on and re-grind the buttplate. Finding an original buttplate will be tough. Judging by the pic, the stock looks added to, not cut and then added.
