Tikka 6XC build done!

Check out my name. I as well have owned a Tikka M55 custom built in 6xc.

Why did you go with a 8" instead of the 7.5" twist the 6xc was designed for ?

###y stock.

When you get it tuned in you will love it. Here is a 100y target 15 round photo. I used to shoot a lot of 1000y with the gun and have kicked it out to 1856y with a 3rd round hit.

thats an awsome group!
I had no intentions of going any heavier than 105gr so decided to stick with 1:8 twist.

Why would you not want to shoot heavier bullets? The 115s are fantastic at long range and the 6XC was really intended for 115s. I would not be the least bit surprised if the 1 in 8 shoots 115s better than 105s.

I had a 6x47 Lapua but I used 6XC brass for the large primers, which I found produced more even velocities than the Lapua small primer cases. Since I had a 1 in 7.5 twist and my best accuracy was not a full load, I thought a slower twist like 1 in 7.75 or maybe 1 in 8 would have been an improvement. Since you are running the full 6XC, you will have higher velocity than I was getting, so the 1 in 8 is probably real good for 115s.

I think you should give them a try.
