So, Who is making Sig P226 mags these days?

Most new Sigs come with inferior Check-Mate magazines. My MK25 thankfully came with Mec-Gars. Because we live in a 10 round limited place though, some MK5s have their Mec-Gars swapped out for Check-mate magazines. I'm glad mine are Mec-Gars, just pinned.

Are you able to disassemble your mags? That looks like they've been pinned by means of a welded plate. I'm not sure if the follower clears the plate...

Barret at Armacoat can refinish those mags for you in Nitron...they'll look good as new...

The welded Mec-Gar's are great mags... not pretty but they work well. Metal baseplate is better if you drop your mags...

Impossible to find.

Brownells doesn't even list them on the site anymore. In any configuration.....no 10 rounders or 15/10 or 17/10....nothing.

Just bought a Sig Sauer 226 factory refurb and it came with 2 mags and a fancy red plastic case...as I want to run it in IPSC, I will need at least 3 more mags.... I would prefer Sig mags, and Mec Gar wold be a second choice...does this mean if I want factory Sig mags I will have to buy from the US or Austria?

It looks as though the "Factory Sig" mags are now made by Checkmate. While not ideal, it appears some members here have used them without a problem. I was hoping for Mec-gar mags, but such is life.

Actually it came with three! But they're priceless lol. I think mecgar sig mags are like 35 to 40 bucks though.

Strider I am not too sure how it's done, I haven't tried to take the magazines apart yet...still haven't fired the gun.

I have heard of the check mate issues but never have had any issues with any of my SIG mags, Mec Gar or Check mate.
