Hey guys...just like the header says, I wanted to know if any one has ever bought a charging handle from the US or would it be an ITAR product?

Any gun part is controled. If it's under $100 and the company is registered then you are good to go. Check out the Brownells importing thread in the legalese forum.

No you're not 'good to go". The $100 'limit' only applies to licensed exporters. We Canadians cannot even apply for an export permit so all firearm parts, regardless of price, still need to be exported out of the US by a licensed US Exporter.

Stupid? Yes.
Fact? Yes.

I ordered a BCM charging handle from Brownells a few years back. They only let it go once they realized it was made by VLTOR which is on the approved list.

If you are lloking for the Gunfighter or similar lots of forum vendors have them for good prices. OSTS had them for $65 I think.

Myself, as well as a few other guys ordered Rainier Raptor ambi charging handles from one of the Ebay vendors that shipped to Canada... no problems, not even duties.

Charging handles are good to go as long as the manufacturer is on the export list.
BCM gun fighter handles from brownells are good to go, so are most "stock" handles; colt, dpms etc.

I purchased the PRI M84 Gas Buster - Military Big Latch charging handle from Wolverine Supplies. It was the correct one for my clone. BCM seems to be a solid unit with tons being used over seas. It you're looking for something with an NSN, go with the PRI. If not then try the BCM Gunfighter. I think One Shot Tactical Supply still has a few left.
