Hello, was wondering if anyone could direct me to a website where I could buy a new front sight for the m305? I'd like to remove the flash hider(I understand it's only decoration on my model) and replace. Thanks very much

Just out of curiosity, why are you replacing your flash hider with a different flash hider? Is it a cosmetics thing?

"...only decoration..." Nope. Mind you, a flash hider doesn't actually eliminate the muzzle flash. It just spreads it out a bit. The star shaped MF you see in pictures/movies is caused by the FH. They don't do anything in day light anyway.

For only decoration, it could be like my m305, which has the flash hider, but there are no actual cuts in the flash hider, so its just an add on to the barrel if that makes any sense.

SEI 5/8 24 threaded castle nut adapter with a thread protector , for those looking to retain front sight while keeping muzzle options

Yes exactly... I hate superficial! :)

Bakersfield7.62 - looks sweet, baisicly what I'm looking for. Ideally install it myself, save some dollars though I don't have the tools and probably not the skill/experience.

I'd like either a muzzle break or flash hider.. or just front sights with the muzzle cleaned up. My understanding of the poly m305 is that the flash hider is purely cosmetic, no actual function.

I think most (if not all) of the M305s being imported these days have fully functional flash hiders, yours might be an older import if there are no vent grooves cut. That SEI adapter looks like it would be great to try out.

If the spines on your flash hider are not cut then it is only for decoration. If the spines are cut and you are happy with the front sight keep it.

M14/M305 without flash hider will produce a flash as large as a beach ball. Check it out on youtube yourself. The issue flash hider is surprisingly effective. Other new designs are even better.

No flash hider http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=59MgPWTxTo0
