First time re-loader, have been recommended a 130 GR .38 bullet as opposed to a 158 GR I'm used to shooting. The question is does anyone else use this load and I'm looking for recommendations for powder. I already have some Unique on hand. Thanks.

I am looking I to starting hand loading. Read, read, and read again. Reloading manuals are the way to go. They have all the info you will need, min to max for each round. Bullet weight and powder charge differences. Best thing to do is read, the experiment. Lower weight bullets allow you to use less powder, Thus stretching the amount of rounds you can make. From all of the research I have done, it all really comes down to personal preference, and what the actual firearm likes best. Your firearm will be your best indicator :)

lower bullet weight = more powder
heavier bullet weight = less powder.

trail boss is a great powder as you can't really double charge, and it makes for a very light shooting load, perfect for CAS.

for unique, alliant says 6gr max for a 125gr round nose flat point, so close enough to 130gr.
