Hey CGN,

I get asked a lot because I am a "hunter" if I know where people can buy game meat in the S.W. Ontario (London) area. I do hunt...but not enough!!! So what little I do get is eaten by me and my close friends/family only.

Know any places I can point them towards?

Mostly looking for rabbit, grouse, pheasant...game birds in general...as deer if possible?

Much thanks,

- J

Yeah. You get them on crown land. It's a simple process. OHEC and CFSC over the weekend, requisite licenses and proper firearms, and have at 'er like the rest of us!

There was a company out of Montreal that supplied farm raised 'game' meat to restaurants, but I don't have the info handy. As others have mentioned, wild game can't be sold.

Sorry...let me clarify...not "wild" game, but they are looking to eat what COULD be hunted and what is not your "standard" farm animals. So rabbit farms and other game farms is what i am after.

Thanks

Farmer's markets usually have a pretty good selection of different stuff. Elk, deer, bison, osterich, pheasants, ducks, geese.

Check out the St. Lawrence Market in Toronto. 2 or 3 of the butchers have pretty much any type of game meat you could want. From venison and rabbit to kangaroo, emu and even camel. I've seen it all there.
