Just purchased my first DW revolver and man it's a doozy..... It must be all the Clint Eastwood movies I watched as a kid, as something about the 15" barrel looks amazing to me. Or perhaps the history of DW. In any case, I spent almost 5 years trying to track down a 15" 15-2 just like this one, finally finding one in Ohio, and as of yesterday I now own one! It was advertised as new condition, possibly unfired (although I'm thrilled if it's only low round count) and comes with the zebra wood grips that are gorgeous. Down the road I will track down several more of the quick change barrel lengths and what a riot it will be to shoot them all. And if I turn out to be a really poor shot with it, I can always reach out and touch the paper with the muzzle and go bang! :)

Thanks again to Clay at Prophet River for coming through again at a moments notice to snag this one at auction, and for taking care of all of the importation requirements.

First pic is an internet photo I've had as my screen saver for several years.....

Wow.......that's a llllonnnnggg pipe on that DW friend! Nice revolver too.........makes my 8" 44 DW look like a holster gun.
Are you planning on rocking some steel with it? I bet you can get some outlandish velocities out of that 15" barrel.
Made in Monson too, bonus!!
Very classy indeed. :)

Thanks!! I am still boggled that I found one and in almost pristine condition, and yes a MONSON! I had to throw some serious money at the seller to get him to end the auction and take my offer, but I think I still did really well. You buy these when you find them not when you want them right? With that in mind, it will be money very well spent. This may actually get my lazy butt into hand loading to see what it can put out.

Nice D.W. I have one similar, i just don't have the 15" barrel. I have a 6" and 10" for mine and find it very accurate at 100 yards with the 10" installed. You will enjoy this revolver, i have not used mine except for some general load work up, was intending to use it for silhouettes but that didn't happen. I have been thinking of selling mine, some family members would like it but want it for next to nothing.:bigHug: Enjoy yours they are a nice shooter.

I own a 6" model with the full underlug. I was not a real revolver guy until i shot this one. Accurate, smooth and a joy to shoot. She is a keeper!! Where can a guy find more barrels?

Whoa.... it's got a longer barrel than my shotgun... lol

If you tried to holster that you wouldn't be able to bend your leg...

In a revolver, does it impact / slow the bullet going through that much rifling?

I'm waiting on a phone call for a DW model 15-2 with all barrels up to the 8" and a spare 6", it even has the original case, belt buckle and patch. I will post pics if this goes through.

Love mine. Just picked up an 8" half underlug to go with the 6" heavy full underlug. It's a 5 digit Monson. Classics.

Yeah they really are classics. As much as I would never want to harm the collector value, that big long tube is just calling to me to engrave the Dan Wesson signature logo on it with gold inlay. Think it would hurt the re-sale value? In a way it's authentic to the gun and in a way it's totally not. But I won't be shooting it much or selling it so the eye appeal would be through the roof!

Nice revolver. I love it. Too bad they aren't making new ones. I would go for one of those over a Smith any day of the week.

Haha awesome. What`s the proper way to hold it?
Any way to get it classified as non-restricted?! LOL

lol!! I really have no idea how to hold it properly..... Maybe a bench rest or beanbag? Full length tripod? And the holster is out. Maybe I can pull a little red wagon along to drag it around. :) Seriously though I did find a set of custom Wesson target grips with a thick thumb rest that looks like it may add some support. Just a few more inches and it would be 26" OAL. Can you imagine that?
