.50 Beowulf Mags?

TRG-42 what follower is that and where did you get it? That is the perfect solution to my question.

Thanks in advance.

Thats an older model Sinclair. They have replaced it with a much nicer aluminum one. The older ones were only $6 ...the new ones are $16 but will last a lifetime

Manufacturer should be churning these out by the tens of thousands if they had any love of buisness, but I suppose that our small but willing market that is craving for this product is not enough to warrant an increase in their pitifully slow production.

Every single owner of a firearm that shoots AR style mags would buy at least one, if not 10 of these if they were priced under $50 and readily available.

Well let's hope NEA is actually making some based on that quote... Still waiting for my polymer ones. My guess would be min 6 months before I get em.

Wow. If they make it to market with a reliable product they're going to have to refocus their manufacturing to churn these out FAST. Also reading that page it seems SFRC is now the NEA retailing arm, congrats to them :D. If NEA comes to market with a Beo mag the phone's going to be ringing off the hook for a while at SFRC ;).

Wonder how that'll mess with the preorder from AA and the people having these made in China if NEA makes it to market first? :stirthepot2:

Forget the 5 round mag, someone needs to make a .50 beowolf PISTOL magazine. Made to hold 10 rounds of Beo. Im not paying $100 for that mag. I feel like if you pay the premium now, you may regret it in a little bit when they come in.

Step 1. You need to manufacture a .50 Beowulf pistol and get it verified by the RCMP.
Step 2. You need to manufacture many of these pistols so that they are "commonly available".

If you think the RCMP lab tech would snap to and approve a .50 Beowulf pistol lickety split you're only fooling yourself. How long did it take to get the semi auto Sten approved? How about the FN SCAR status? Need I go on?

I sincerely doubt that the 5 round Beowulf mags have been specificly approved by the RCMP and have seen no one provide proof it has besides sending me to guidelines for the law

Yes the RCMP has addressed this. .50 beo mags are perfectly legal. They are made to hold 5 rounds of .50 beo. The RCMP stated that it is legal to load more than 5 rounds .223 in the magazine, as long as it does not hold more than 5 rounds of the round it is manufactured for.

I have seen no emails or documentation of this. The words "designed and manufactured for" come to mind as being a tough thing to overcome

Here is a quote from TVpresspass's youtube vidoe where he shoots 15 rounds out of his tavor:

"The RCMP confirms the legality of this magazine use in Special Bulletin for Businesses No. 72"

Look it up and read :)

Bottom line, the magazines are clearly marked .50 beo and they are made for use in .50 beo guns, bottom line. The fact that it can hold .223 is a side issue.

You may think this is the "bottom line" and I've read the regs. That's is where my concern comes from. Just stamping something and slightly bending the feed lips is not a new design.. It's a modified design of which was designed for 556 .. So when they say in the caliber it was designed and manufactured for one could easily argue these are designed for 556 .. Based on the 556 follower and mag body and MODIFIED for 50bw.. The follower is most of what's not sitting right for me. There is a second curved follower which I don't believe would be a problem but using the 556 follower just seems like its going to have a bad result..

Again without quoting generic regs I have yet to see concrete proof that the RCMP knows and allows these things

Skip, this was ironed out way before 50 beo mags came out. Mag restrictions are not the same as rifle restrictions, they are unrestricted devices so long as they meet the capacity criteria for the cartridge they were manufactured to hold.

The DFAIT won't issue a mass quantity import permit until the RCMP acknowledges that they're proprietary magazines made for .50 Beowulf, and not just 5.56mm mags with the pin placed lower. The fact they were legally imported with full knowledge of the DFAIT and RCMP, with a proper mass quantity import permit approved by the DFAIT is concrete proof enough.

shows sold out now, can you tell us how much those cost?

and if any reps of Northern Republic are on here, any time frame on the next batch?
Yeah, they definitely sold out fast. I was able to secure just a couple more Alexander Arms .50 Beowulf mags and they're enroute to our facility. However, if you guys miss out on the official product, watch our forum section for more information over the next month or so.
