Curious if this is the norm with other companies. I'm buying a AR buy NEA but was told it doesn't come with any mags?? This seems weird to me and frustrating because ar mags are hard to find.

OP was told the rifle did not come with any magazines.
So be it.
Options:
1. Buy it anyway.
2. Buy something else, somewhere else, that comes with a magazine.
3. Order magazines to go with the rifle.
4. Complain on the 'net.

This thread has run its course.

Ok guys I wasn't trying to start a fight. I have seen and used a NEA and find it to be great quality for the cost. Yes I was told prior to purchase that no mags were included and my comment that mags are hard to find is they seem to sell fast and are getting expensive, hard to find in stock locally is all. I got this response from NEA and I accept it. Other popular manufacturers are around 1500 but have sights and mag. I would rather customize these option and save on the rifle. I appreciate all your input.

From NEA
You are correct, we do not ship our rifles with mags.

We are very conscious of our rifle pricing and we would prefer to keep our rifle price down and allow the consumer to go purchase the mag of their choice. As you know, there are many mags on the market and everyone has a different preference. We just felt it was best to leave that up to the consumer and keep the cost of the rifle as low as possible. We could pretty easily include a mag or two with the rifle but it would increase the overall cost of the rifle approx $30-$60 dollars. All costs will at some point be passed on to the final consumer. I don't know about you but I would prefer to pay less for a rifle and take that saved money and go buy the mag of my choice.

Hope this answers your question.

Thanks
