Group in a dime, Nemesis and Sightron 10X50X60....

marcoman... this is a "talking thread" not a "shooting thread". I'm sure there are lots of us trying to get dime sized groups at 300M, I'll be sure to post if I'm ever successfull.
EDIT: Reality Check - Record smallest 5 shot groups at 300M by International Bench Rest Association Shooters are listed as follows:
HB - .605"
LV - .887"
HV - .787"
SP - .817"
Most of these records have stood since the late '60's... when there must have been some great conditions paired with talented shooters. Of course, from time-to-time, shooters do better than these records... With my calipers, my .308 cals need to be under .4" for a dime to cover.

Really.... Who's the doucher... Maybe guys are posting these comments because this is a theme with the OP. Grandious claims without credible evidence. I'm sure the Nemesis is a very capable rifle and Caramel a capable driver but understand the skepticism that that arises when claims of benchrest championship winning groups are being produced on a regular basis. I have nothing personal against Caramel at all and wish him well with his challenge, however why not document the accomplishment first then post for all to enjoy.

Sometimes it all has to do with the delivery.....

Your post while expressing the same concern, did not come across as EC's did.

Seriously......why can't this thread be locked. Maybe I'll start a post where I promise to walk on the moon.

Make sure to first post lots of pictures and a detailed description of your Super Moon Walker 3000 space boots before even thinking of attempting such a stunt!

When I bought my spotting scope,I told the sales man I needed to do a rectal exam on a fly @ 200.I guess the next time, it will be 1km.

Flying rectal exam...we'll need a hat for that too..

Regardless of what you think of his chances of doing it on command, you have to admit there is some entertainment value to JP's threads.

It's been a year or two...can't remember now, it's like some soap opera. Makes me want to break out in SoooooOOOONG!!!...oh wait, wrong opera...

No offence ment JP, but you keep at it and I'll keep reading...

There it is.
It's not about him accomplishing anything and more about showcasing an expensive rifle.
Do I expect JP to actually try do it? Absolutely not. It's the nature of the threads. :)
He loves the rifle and is proud of it. It is an interesting rifle and it reminds me of something from the old "Day of the Jackal" movie.

I don't care if he actually accomplishes it or not but how about less yapping and how about some pictures of targets with attempts.
If his wonder loads still need a little tweaking the attempts should still be impressive if he thinks that he can achieve this.
Even if he only makes a 300yd 5 shot group covered by a quarter or even a loonie I'll be impressed.
This thread is just hot air and a waste of our time until there are some pictures of targets.

Good luck but get out to the range already.

5 witnesses sighting in before F class Nationals in Ottawa, I have seen a fellow shoot 5 in .520" at 300 y, and my brother shot 2 groups in a row at .600 & .608" at 300 yards all 223 Rem fastwist 1/7 Hart Barrel,at 30" with 80 gr Sierras and Bergers
I think it might be a little harder to do with .308 because of recoil management

338 lapua

First 3 shots at 300 y .090" then the nut behind bolt got loose.
