Congrats! I have a Gen 4 17 but didn't know you can convert a Glock 22 to use 9mm. I've wanted a .40 but have more 9mm 'resources' can you share what you know about the conversion?
Its just a Barrel- like a Lone Wolf that you drop in place of the .40 barrel. I think 9mm will feed from a .40 mag but they recommend using a proper 9mm mag.

Learn something everyday here on CGN! Thanks. I assumed there would be a spring change at least in addition to the barrel but apparently not. I might have to try and find a .40 Glock now.
You can also get a 357 sig barrel for it too
The Lonewolf 40-9 shoots lead whereas not recommended for Glock barrels (I shoot lead in my G17 Gen 4, need to find the right load to reduce/eliminate leading).
Find G22 Gen4 with Lonewolf 40-9 barrel isn't as accurate as my G17.
G22 springs are heavier then G17. for 40-9 ok for 124gn and heavier bullets, for 115gn lonewolf recommended going to G17 spring. I like the G17 spring better, smoother recoil.

I finally got the gun and got it to the range. I was shooting it beside my Dlask 1911 in .40S&W. I can't say I like the Glock. It kicks like hell and I can't hit the broad side of a barn. I would hit one shot of 6 at 15 yards at a 12"x18" target using my knees as a rest sitting down. I could hit 5 of 6 with the Dlask. The 1911 had manageable kick the Glock kicked way more. The Glock seemed way louder as well. I was shooting 180 grain lead handloads at full power. The gun is new, has shot about 35 rounds only. I have ordered the 9mm bbl. and look forward to trying that. I bought the Glock as I don't have a decent 9mm pistol and hoped the Glock would be the one for me. I have a P89 but it is DAO and I don't like that as much as SAO. At this rate the Glock is going to be a safe queen. I'll make some lighter loads and maybe get some lighter projectiles for it but I don't like the kick as it is now.
Its not the gun, its you. Glocks are not forgiving when it comes to form/fundamentals like a crisp SA 1911 is. This is by far the most common "reason" behind the dislike of Glocks. The factory sights are pretty crappy as well.

I am a shooter that gets out maybe once a month if I'm lucky. This time I spent more time looking for my brass than shooting. Honestly I would say a revolver is a far better handgun than any semi auto will ever be. I can shoot a revolver far more accurately than the semis and I don't have to search for my brass. We are only punching holes in paper after-all. At this stage of the game a heavy gun with a long barrel works best for me. I have just ordered two books by Patrick Sweeney about the Glock so I can be better informed about them. If I was comparing this Glock to my S&W 610 there is no comparsion. The .40S&W round feels tame in the 610 and is wild in the Glock. It is fairly tame in the 1911 and also my Ruger P94. If I had nothing else to compare to I would say shooting isn't much fun as the Glock was too wild for my taste but the 610 and the 1911 were enjoyable to shoot and the P94 is OK as well. I was actually surprised by the kick of the Glock as I had considered the .40 similar to a 9mm for power. I couldn't feel a lot of difference between the 10mm and the .40 S&W in my 610, I actually couldn't figure out what all the fuss was about.
I have no doubt that this issue is my shooting ability or form. It is what it is. The easy way out for me is shoot a revolver. I will continue to work out the Glock issues and try it with the 9mm round which was my plan from the start. I am glad that most Cops have Glocks since they are almost unshootable in my opinion.
