CCI Blazer New Stock ?????

I received an order of blazer from Canada Ammo on Tuesday, and all the ones I have checked so far came in the white plastic trays and dont look to be the darker/waxy ones pictured earlier. Are these going to be junk ammo? I was really hoping they were going to be the higher quality ones I had read good things about that come in the clear holders.

Some moving pictures on this topic.
This fellow makes an assumption that both are primed by CCI.
I'm not sure that they are. I know they don't fire as reliably (federal compared to CCI) let alone the gas check seal of the CCI projectiles versus the lesser knurled federal.

I don't know that this is a capacity contracting thing, or simply business as usual.
It would be good to get the word back to CCI that the federal versions are staining the good name of CCI brand and /or find out how to maintain a standard via any given supplier so you know wtf you're getting if buying a case.
I've got some of both here and will check rim thickness in a sample or two. That should shed some light on who formed the rims and primed them.

Ordered last week, recieved today - Mar 28/13. Looks like it's the good stuff. Thanks again Canada Ammo!

Does anyone know if the 525 bulk packs only come with the Blazer ammo or are those sometimes Federal as well? I want to order a bulk case but I don't want to be stuck with 2,600 rounds of Federal which does not work well in my rifle.

I found the 525 Blazer bulk packs to be hopelessly gummy: Bullet lube all over the cases from them rattling together over time. Gummed up my semi-autos in fairly short order. I am cleaning the remaining ammo by hand, and let me tell you... That is not my favourite firearms-related activity.

yup, I have to do the same with the Blazer 525 bulk stuff too. They work ok in my 22/45, but gum up the Buttler Creek 25 round mags pretty quick. Usually I throw down a mat and roll the ammo between 2 paper towels. Takes me about 10 min's to do a box.

Gone through several bricks of the 500 and 525 packs of Blazer with out a single issue in my Savage 64. Latest brick is Federal and the rifle fails to load the next round about 30-50 percent of the time.

Thanks for letting me know. We requested only CCI when we ordered and all that we checked was CCI. We will check again, and speak to the supplier.

It's not just you.
I bought some 50 packs from CanTire last week. The box says "CCI Lewiston" on the box. Inside: light coloured bullets and white plastic holders with legs. Lot # is clearly Federal.

I also bought the 525 box of loose rounds, and they appear to be 'real' CCI's with a CCI lot number.

FYI, I just came back from the range having shot 100 rounds of the "Federal-looking" Blazers, and 100 of what appear to the "real" CCI Blazers. No difference & no problems out of my Ruger SR22 carbine using BC 25 round mags (loaded to max of 23).
