I did a search, and well, can't find an answer so here goes:

I've got a Colt AR15A2 Delta HBAR Elite package. It has the original manuals, two 20 rnd (alas, riveted to 5)magazines, Tasco scope, ARMS Colt marked carry handle mount, and the Colt cheekpiece. I've also got the matching aluminum case it came in. It's got less than 1000 rnds down the barrel and is in mint shape.

In the States, the whole package like this would sell for $2500-3000, according to the guys at milsurps.com.

What do the experts think the package would be worth here??

Why would you insure that separately - the value would run around $2k+/- and it should be covered under the "Unscheduled Personal Possessions" section of your homeowners/condo/tenants policy. I saw an unfired one go last year for $2400, complete with scope.

Well, if stolen out of his car his vehicle insurance would probably be limited to a lot less... Content on. My vehicle is only like 1200' meaning I'm SOL on most of my firearms if my car was broken into while I had a couple of rifles inside.

Your vehicle insurance will cover exactly zero dollars of your firearms in your vehicle, vehicle insurance covers the vehicle, not it's contents unless your insurance company is extremely generous - the vast majority are not. Your home insurance will cover all of your firearms less your deductible.

+1. Vehicle contents are always covered under a home insurance policy in my experience.

Strange, because this isn't what my state farm agent told me when I asked about my precision rifle with optic, and when I had two of them in the car.

enefgee is essentially right - although all major car insurance companies off addon plans for contents for extra money, he may be doing that
