:D I was checking out ruger22.com as I picked up a 10/22 Takedown for my son, and the guys on the site were totally
enthused about this product called Moly Fusion. I also checked it out on their own site called shootersolutions.com.
So, according to the guys on these two sites, Moly Fusion: practically rust proofs your barrel, fills in imperfections and
pores and makes it super slippery so you can shoot higher pressure handloads, improves accuracy and tightens groups,
eliminates flyers the first shot after cleaning your barrel, and keeps your barrel clean a whole lot longer. It sounds like
some pretty hot stuff, maybe a few of you guys might be interested in checking it out and sharing your opinions?

You seem to be just the right sort of investor I am looking for...there is this bridge in Sydney...!

Moly coating has been around for years. It has I it's advantages, and it's disadvantages. There was a time, 20 years ago, that a lot of people thought it was going to revolutionize shooting. Then it pretty much faded out.

There are accuracy hounds who will try anything. As KePet says ^^ it has been around for a while. I experimented with a very thin skin of Canadian Tire moly axle grease on the forward curve of 7.62x51 bullets. The idea was to not coat the bearing surface directly and hold pressures in line, while applying the clay compounds to the bore. Other guys had spray-on moly, something called Miss Moly. Then there are assorted snake squeezings that are swabbed in the barrel. All the same principles, just another way of doing it.

Does it work? Maybe. Do I still use it? No. Too much trouble.

When somebody comes up with a bullet that completely removes the fouling left by the previoius bullet, so that I have a perpetually self-cleaning rifle, then maybe I'll be interested. Otherwise, just another sales gimmick.
