What powder do you recommend for 357 Mag.

for full power/jacketed 357 bullets i use viht 110 ,as well as for the 44 mag,less noise and blast. makes it seem like less recoil,but it works.

I use 7.4 gr of VV N340 pushing a 158 gr Berry's plated FP. This load keeps the velocity around 1190 fps which is under the 1250 fps maximum for plated bullets.

as posted, the 357 is pretty versatile.

I don't shoot or load a lot of 357, but for lead, I buy Speer LSWC-HP and load them with HS-6 or with Trailboss. Trailboss is nice because it fills the case and a double charge isn't possible. HS-6 burns clean when the pressure is higher. With lead, somewhere around 1000fps is the point where bore leading starts. 1000 fps with a Speer LSWC-HP would almost duplicate a FBI load in the 38 Special +P.

pretty sure I have never gone beyond 15 or 16 in my 6 and 8" Dan Wesson.. I know I have had higher pressure loads with 7.5gr unique than 15gr of lil gun.

My friend uses 18gr of Lilgun behind 158gr jacketed bullets in his 6"GP100
That is a kickass load. Big flame and Big Bang .

Full blown magnum loads I use Lil Gun. Supposedly has the lowest pressure curve according to my manuals. Pleased with my 686 and 18grs of the stuff. This is with 158gr XTP's.

I'm a big fan of 2400 but I've had great luck with winchester 231 as well.

I use titegroup for 9mm / 38/357 and 45acp. Buy it in bulk works well for me.
