Hey Guys,

I was recently in contact with Marstar about the VZ-58 and I received this response:

Due to government changes in the re-classification of this firearm we are holding back for the moment....

Has anyone heard anything else about this?

What the hell is going on?

It seems like we go 1 step forward and 10 steps backwards :(.....

well what ones are they reclassing?? there were a few versions brought in the 1st from marstar were restricted so they know where those are they would NOT be easy to convert as they had the bigh chunk of steel welded inside the reciever and the auto-sear trip lever shoulder removed from the carrier and bolt and striker. how were the other models made??

the cfo's are suppose to be going and now its time to think of getting rid of the RCMP ! they are proving time and time again to be a regressive liberal lap dog

Got mine have the demolishing of the LGR... good luck RCMP if they do reclassify it! We should probably run a campaign getting people to stop calling it the Canadian AK since it isn't an AK, that's probably what the hub bub is...

. . . I thought marstar sold the FSN rifles, not the Vz58s?

Questionable. But possibly concerning.

The FSN is a variant of the VZ-58.

As for any reclassification, it is likely that the RCMP has determined (or is in the process of determining) that several models are either readily and easily convertible to full auto, or are considered converted autos. This would not affect all VZ-58 firearms as certain ones like the CSA's are definitely made on new receivers in a semi-only configuration. There will be no grandfathering for these rifles as they are not prohibited through OIC.

I will also add that Marstars response was highly cryptic and any further speculation on any pending reclassification is counter-productive.

I agree.... but I still hink this is a load of crap! Wen was the last time a massacre was committed with a fa firearm? Sometimes it feels they just want to take them away one by one so they don't get to much resistance.

Right after 5/75rd drums become the norm they go after the platform hmmmmm.

Cant have a non res 7.62 with easily un pinned 75 round mags in the hands of Canada's most trusted citizens.

lol.....if they were going to prohib any VZ58 type rifles they should have done it while the LGR was still alive. They will never find them all now.
