marstar only imported the FSN and the CZH2003 (aka VZ8L & VZ58S).

the first import of the FSN was held up and it finally got approval 3 years later, you would think its been thru with a fine tooth comb .

What is with all the "lock this thread talk"? Paranoid much guy's? That kind of talk only shows you feel like you are in the wrong.

Rumour or not nothing ever should be taboo when it come's to firearms, the more people that know the better chance we have to fight if the rumour is true.

Day after day some twits calls for thread locks for no reason.

Stand up and dont be scared ladies.

(It's sunday sunny and warm and I'm drinking.)

When the thread goes from discussion on the topic to "from my cold dead hands", it's time to lock it as everything worth saying has been said. Continuing to have this thread open only serves to spread panic based on sketchy information (at best).

Panic!!!!! why would this cause anyone to panic? getting cancer is cause for panic, When dealers send out an email about this topic I would think there would be some good back and forth on it.

Relax gents and lets sit back and wait.

The governor in council may enact regulations; however, no new regulations have been enacted. The only way that they could do this would be through an OIC, and no OIC naming the VZ-58 as a prohibited firearm has been issued.
I was merely speaking about the RCMP which can *at will* reconsider its past decisions, and give bs reason to re-classify, as was seen with the BD-38.

Why lock it?

How about we get Marstar and CanAm to clarify or give some more details!!!

It's their posts that are starting all this mess, and yet they do not provide any evidence or even further clarification....

So far their posts serve no purpose or help to others, only cause panic, and further fear mongering....
FWIW, the last thread asking CanAm to clarify his words ended up being deleted...

These threads are either all complete BS or are hitting too close to home for those key players to actually post an update.

I want to know as much as you guys, however if there is an actual issue with import/sales many companies here stand to lose pretty heavily.

I want an answer too folks, just not sure that we can force a company to answer us just because we demand they do...

The OP claims the text in bold below is quoted from an email received from Marstar. The easy way to put all of the speculation in this thread to rest would be for Marstar to address this directly. I can't see how it wouldn't be in their best interest to contribute a couple of sentences of text that would clear the air. MARSTAR: Many of us would genuinely appreciate it if you might elaborate on the claims of the OP. Thanks in advance for your input.

On a further note ...

It just seems like there are a lot of threads on CGN that contain cryptic messages from dealers, either directly from them or via alleged communication with another member, but are then never elaborated on. Mostly these have had to do with rumors of reclassification of "insert hot model of the day here" and end up spiraling into a sea of speculation, then get shut down because someone calls out a sponsor in a less than tactful way.

Here's an easy solution to the issue:

Dealers: Please avoid posting cryptic messages and ignoring/refusing to answer questions for clarification.

CGN members at large: please refrain from posting rumors and then getting mad at dealers for not chiming in. If you have reason to believe something of interest is up, collect information privately to confirm any assertion or claim before you post it in a public forum.

Hey Guys,

I was recently in contact with Marstar about the VZ-58 and I received this response:

Due to government changes in the re-classification of this firearm we are holding back for the moment....

Has anyone heard anything else about this?

What the hell is going on?

It seems like we go 1 step forward and 10 steps backwards :(.....

well what ones are they reclassing?? there were a few versions brought in the 1st from marstar were restricted so they know where those are they would NOT be easy to convert as they had the bigh chunk of steel welded inside the reciever and the auto-sear trip lever shoulder removed from the carrier and bolt and striker. how were the other models made??

well id say that is the reason right there if true.

Remember the 80s cartoon Dungeons and Dragons ?
That's what I'm watching right now
What a flash from the past
I love dayQuil

I agree.... but I still hink this is a load of crap! Wen was the last time a massacre was committed with a fa firearm? Sometimes it feels they just want to take them away one by one so they don't get to much resistance.

The CZ858 was used in a spree shooting during that political event in Quebec...some guy in a blue bathrobe brought one and managed to shoot one person before it jammed up and would not work any more.
