It was a dog gun they threw together with trash pieces. Not a big loss considering the amount of nuggets there are and it was worth it, in my opinion, to see just how tough those suckers are.

This is educational. I did something similar with a "Cooey Carcano" that was alleged to be "dangerously weak". It was proven to be very strong, but the myth persists.

BTW - those two guys are not the only two people in the world who are authorized to do this kind of thing. I'll do something like that again any other time in the future if I want.

I found the tests to be amusing and a real testament to what a Mosin can handle. For that sort of a test, I would have gone for better (any) cover like a sheet of plywood and better PPE, but they seem none the worse for wear.

Just goes to show that Sergei Mosin and Leon Nagant got the design right the FIRST time.

I knew Mosin-Nagants were tough, but I didn't think they were THAT tough.
