Lets get a some lever action #### going

Here is one of my all time favorites in the small caliber Winchester rifles. It is a Model 1892 in .25-20 with octagon barrel full magazine and crescent butt. These little guns are a great gun for kids to learn to shoot with because of basically no recoil or loud report. Don't under estimate the potential of this caliber in a 24" barrel rifle. The previous owner of this gun shot an Antelope with one shot at 125 yards in New Mexico. This gun dates to 1910.

Nice 92 Brian. I love the 92 in that chambering. You can shoot them all day. And the actions on the 92s are so smooth. Love to find one in a TD rifle.

Some levers are bought beautiful....

Others are built.
a little bit of manitoba maple (box elder) from the backyard, still shaping it and slowly adding Truoil,

edit: updated pics now that there's a bit of TruOil on them:

edit: changed the shape on the forestock a bit closer to factory lines and got some stainless loops on I made, the front has a sling loop. Next I guess is sandblasting and then nickel plating.

if you look closely you can see a fold of the box elder tree under the fence, I had to cut a big slice of burl off the tree when we redid the fence, this is the wood used for the stock, you can see the tree has also pushed the old concrete fence foundation out of its place.
.32 WS, in progress

Wow! I've always looked at Manitoba Maple as a 'weed' tree, but that wood looks beautiful.

Ya, I can't get over how good the burl wood looks. I got the butt mostly shaped yesterday, fits on the rifle, still have to clearance it for the hammer spring and then start fine sanding and coat it. I think it'll look sharp with in nickel with my slightly bigger lever loops and the light colored lumber. I'm so stoked, can't wait till I can get out to the garage after dinner and work on it some more.

I really like the "weed" maple! I'm getting a hankerin' for another Rossi 92 project
and that wood is funky. For now, I'll have lots of fun with my Ranch Hand carbines.
The top one is in .357 magnum and has Rossi stocks. The bottom one is .45 Colt
with PGW butt stock with my brass butt plate. Just gotta darken the fore end a bit
more on the .45 ;)

First I ever heard of Manitoba Maple. Very interesting wood. I am very interested to see what the finished product will look like. I hope you will post photos.

Nice Rossis Shell Shucker. I am a Winchester man, but my first lever gun of my very own as a young fellow starting out hunting was a Rossi. It was a great little gun.

Was out scouting a new LR shooting spot with the GG so I grabbed a couple pics. Bought off the EE this winter and added a Skinner winged rear sight, dovetail filler and a Marbles fiber optic front. Loaded up some Hornady 350 FP's and haven't been happier. I don't think I'll ever pack a shotgun in the bush again.
