Magpul anti-tilt followers

Don't know anywhere that has them in stock right now. I've had a few on backorder from Brownells for 2 months now.
 
I take it Brownells isn't taking back orders any more? Have you found/do you know of any other companies in the states that will ship to Canada and are still taking back orders?
 
Looks like they are still taking backorders on the USGI upgrade kits which include 3x self-levelling followers and 3x ranger floor plates.

Those look nearly the same (dimensionaly speaking), as the followers in my LAR 10 rnd mags.

Anyone know if there would be a significant benefit to upgrading the LAR followers with the Magpul?
 
been in the CF over 13yrs and never seen this problem or heard of anyone have it.

I need to invent something for the AR15 like special chrome mag bases that improve stuff and make you awesome

I had a few LAR mags that had intermittent feed issues. These Magpul followers made my LARs as dependable as my Pmags. I don't read much on ARFCOM but I know I experienced a problem and these followers fixed that problem. @Dsiwy, I don't suppose you use too many LARs in the CF eh? ;)

Yes. Not all the LAR mags have the same followers either. The ones with the orange followers that CanAm sells are great, but the last batch that surfaced were awful. I had feed issues with ALL of mine. I ended up filing the fronts down, but not sure if the followers would helped also.

This is true no LAR mags in the CF ;)

How did your LAR mags fail?

Occasionally they would feed rounds at a bit of a funny angle, presumably from the follower either getting a little stuck or the actual shape of the follower presenting the round at a bit of an odd angle...when a round jammed, it appeared that the bolt grabbed the round but on its journey forward the projectile would get snagged and then be jammed back into the case a bit from the force of the bolt sliding forward. This only seemed to happen when I was shooting Norinco 223, never with the AE black box stuff...the Norinco ammo measured 2 thou longer in OAL than the AE and I suspect that little extra length was enough to occasionally snag if the follower wasn't orienting the rounds the way it should have. At first I thought maybe I had a feed ramp issue but after close inspection that wasn't the problem.
At any rate, after the new followers were installed I never again had this issue and I've put >600 rounds of Norinco 223 through those mags/gun combination since.
 
Here is a comparison between two types of LAR mags and their followers. Note how much better the orange follower covers the front of the mag. The rounds slide out of these ones a lot better. The one on the left is an example of one I would replace with the Magpul followers.

What a timely thread - bought a 10-pack second hand from a member here. Two of the mags are completely useless - never mind only 9 rounds, I can't even squeeze 4 or 5 in. Got some Magpul anti-tilts thinking that would solve the problem, but the followers from the factory are such total crap, I can't even get them out of the mags :mad:. Can't tell where they're binding either.

Totally disenchanted with the LAR mags...
