Looking to purchase one of these rifles in a non restrected barrel length. Which manufactures the best quality rifles? What are your guy's opinions?

the cz858 is a refurbished old military rifle.no tabbed bolt carrier so you may get the "gremlin" issue if you dont have it added aftermarket. if it is non restricted it has no chrome lining so clean it often. the restricted is chrome lined. grey paint

the CSA vz58 in a new production and the non restricted also has no chrome lining but does have a tabbed colt carrier. black paint. i own both and like both. the csa just seems a little better though

This question has been answered in this thread already - not even a month ago I think. Some good info if you search.
VZ58 has a better fit and finish but costs more and comes with fewer mags.
I have the VZ58 and will buy another one even though the CZ858 is cheaper. I just cant get over the poor paint/finish on those 858s. Its still an awesome rifle though.
You cant go wrong really.

Have both now, the CZ paint is tougher than the CSA without question, put on new handguards and already scratched.
My CZ is proven the CSA not so much.

Really like the Mil-Spec ish CZ but also like the CSA for fit and finish machining(Not the paint).Poly handguards seem thin.

Give me a couple months with the CSA to really test function, dont see any reason why she wont go bang(little worried about the crap heat treated metal problem they have).
Wanted another CZ but no one has them so spent the extra 2 bills on the CSA and I'm happy:) she sure is pretty.

Each model has it's own problems if you can even call them problems.

VZ58 looks and feels like a nicely put together modern firearm.

CZ858 looks and feels like an ugly but brutally reliable cold war era firearm.

You can't go wrong with either. Both will shoot great. But with the cz you will feel as though you can run up to the target and smash it with the rifle and it'll keep shooting fine afterward.

I love my cz. I had one hiccup with it, but it was taken care of in 5 minutes by the guys at wolverine.

CZ 858
+stronger finish
-/+ bolt not tabbed. [As some have said, the gremlin to my understanding was in a limited first batch or so of these rifles. Tabbed bolts are more of an excessive precaution for the consumer who has heard of the gremlin and didn't get the memo about it being partial to the first batch or so of the 858's.
-fugly furniture that makes plywood look ###y
-fugly HIGH GLOSS grey/blue paint.
-receiver is not pre-drilled for scope mount (doesn't matter if you use dust cover mount)

CSA VZ58
+nicer looking black finish
+polymer furniture (some even come with m4 style stock)
+currently comes in .223 and 7.62x39 (possibly .308 in the future)
+tabbed bolt. (Got 99 problems but a gremlin aint 1!)
-finish does appear to be less durable. Armacoat it!

I know I would go Vz58 in 7.62x39 with the m4 stock, bc tac front rail, and a shorter scope of some kind on it.
