Finn capture mosins

Last weekend I scored two Finn captured mosins for $100 each. One is a hex receiver 1933 Tula. It's SA marked and has a blade front sight. The stock appears to be finished with pine pitch and is very dark. The other is a 1937 tula with a round receiver. The stock is a two piece "potbelly" style. There are brass shims under the action. It has metal sling hangers and a globe front sihht.It has the "41" mark in addition to the SA. The 1937 is a good shooter. Not sure about the 1933 as it shoots very high. I think I scored pretty well. The guy said his deceased father in law bought them from SIR years ago. I'll post pics if i ever figure out how.

No bubba work at all. The potbelly stock has damage to the forestock and handguard but no big deal. What is more interesting is an area exactly where my cheek weld is that looks to have been damaged or chipped out by somebody with a knife. It is obviously very old and is very smooth to the touch. Definitely not recent bubba work. I like to think a soldier was being creative with his knife but who knows? I/ll get pics up asap.

Funny thing is I told my wife I'd be selling them both. Once they were in my hands though she knew that was hopeless.

A point that many guys miss: if the Finns KEPT a rifle in Service, they MADE it shoot well before it ever hit the ready rack.

For sheer off-the-rack accuracy, the Finn Moisin-Nagants are one of the biggest SECRETS out there.

I have the world's worst pair of Finn rifles, both 91s, a 1906 Tula and a 1907 Sestroryetsk, both beat half to death, both spliced stocks, both counterbored..... and they both can shoot better than I can. Together, they cost me the best part of 100 bucks.

Can't fault that.

Awesome find! Not one, but two!!

The one my Grandfather carried is somewhere with my relatives in Finland. I would like to acquire one someday as a tribute to him.

I did get an SVT-40 bayonet from my Grandfather when I was alot younger. Unfortunately, I never got the story behind it. I did pick up a SVT-40 to go with it, though!

I actually already ordered one from ebay. Thanks though. I keep trying to post pictures on here to show everyone the rifles and it's been nothing but frustration.
