Recoil- SKS vs. CZ 858

Is it just me of does the 858 Have far less recoil than the SKS?
If so is there a particular reason?

Did you take them out on a shoot at the same time.... I thought my sks fired smoother and with less muzzle rise... however I have not had them out on the same trip to compare....

The SKS has a heavier operating system. This also requires greater force to operate. Heavier parts + more gas pressure = more recoil from the action.

Recoil from SKS/CZ858???

What is this of which you speak???:p

I've had both of mine out to the range on the same day and didn't notice any real difference in recoil. My CZ has the NR 19" barrel, so it weighs a little more than the restricted CZ's.

In theory, the SKS is a heavier rifle than the 858, and so the SKS should have less recoil firing the same round.

I feel as though the 858 has less recoil. Maybe because the stock I have on it is more inline with the shoulder so there's less of a fulcrum? Idk

maybe we can say difference between muzzle climb ^^ i have both and i don't really see a difference

Aww yes, thats what I was meaning. There seems to be much less "muzzle climb" on an 858 than on my SKS.

As far as eating more spinach...lol. I eat plenty of it. Just got my termilology wrong.
