I would guess they have some preliminary numbers from preorders. I can't imagine they'd produce and bring in less than that. More than likely a #### ton more.

I bet it's 1000's. If you get a special model made, they won't make 50 copies.

Yes but they are cranking out tons of other Type 97s. They just have to make different receivers. They probably have all the other parts for them.
 
Most of factories in China are set up to taking mass production orders on basis of thousands pieces, not even hundreds. When the Go button is pressed, goods will soon pile the floor of their shipping department. Production capability is never a problem there in China, but the CBSA in Canada. Four years ago they sent samples from CA's shipment to RCMP's lab for retest, then RCMP suddenly changed their mind, I bet CBSA will do the same thing this time, but it's still too early to tell what RCMP will react this time.

Considering Real Sword airsoft replicas are made using the same machinery and material they use to make the real ones, and they are interchangeable (someone successfully swapped a QBZ-95 handguard with the Type 97), it'll most likely work. Also don't mind Rainbow Dash. She isn't allowed to touch the very real non-airsoft shotgun at the top without my supervision :3
