VZ58 22kit & VZ61 skorpion, which one do you think i had more fun with ?

i shot the vz58 22kit and the VZ61 skorpion this week and i had more fun with the skorpion , nice little gun .

the kit werent bad , the rifle performed rather well , i shot 100 rounds with no glitch on the rifle part but i had feeding issues on both the mags, i will admit i didnt grease it prior to shooting like i did to the rifle parts . the mags held 29 rounds max.

i havent shot a 22 for quite some time but this one had very little recoil , the first shot i werent even sure it went off till the casing bounce in front of me, lol . every 20 rounds i would check the muzzle screw to see if it become loose but no , it was still pretty snugged. note : i had to use a washer between the muzzle screw and the barrel sleeve bcos it was rattling a bit .

the grouping werent great , i had 4" at 15m while the skorpion were 2.5" at the same distance, for me im happy with that considering the folding stock was way too short and it gave me no cheek weld .

when gripping the skorpion with the left hand one must grip the mag if you grip it too high your thumb would surely get a spanking by the cocking knob. i found most of the cases behind me and some about 20 feet away .

i would love to get a skorpion in a 9mm .

That's what is stopping me from buying one.
It would seem 9 mm would be the obvious choice for this gun.
Hopefully one day they will make them in 9 mm.

I know right? That's the only thing keeping me from buying one too.

Despite my best efforts, I have yet to find .32 ACP at one of my LGS. When I mention the round, they mostly look at me like I'm an alien.

Currton, go with the skorpion for sure. Much better all around. I have ZERO problems getting 32acp ammo for mine. I like the 32cal alot more then the 380cal. Maybe its just me but the skorp was originally made for the 32 and I feel it serves it well.
Since there is probably just proto type 9mm skorps, chances of you gettng one is almost impossible.
VZ58 22lr kit is cool and I have been considering one but there is alot better 22 rifles out there for the same price as a kit and this is coming from a guy who bases almost his whole life around the cz858 platform.

Money better spent on the skorp, jusr my 2cents tho!!!!!

oh, im keeping my .32 but the reason i want it in 9mm for the power but mostly bcos the ammo is cheaper, paying $25 for a box of 20 .32 is a bit expensive , not to mention its kinda hard to find .

i got the .22 kit bcos my son asked me to , i know i wont lose money on it in the long run so why not?

remember , the VZ58 underfold when everybody hated it , i bought as many as i could , guess what happening now? i keep getting offers for them, people offering me $200 but i said no thanks . thats what gonna happen to the 22 kit several years from now .

the most expensive antique western gun arent the most popular , its the ones thats not popular bcos the production was limited .

That is outrageous.

I still want a 22lr kit, i dunno i just bought a CZ 452 varmint. Not the same I know but still. Ill probably order one up soon.

So other then running 100 rounds thru the 22lr kit, you had no real issues with it???

none except for the mags, the rounds were getting hung up down in the mags . i havent had time to look but i think its fixable.

just remember to grease all the moving parts well and remove sharp edges .
