Brand new m14....but it's a ticking time bomb waiting to happen (with pics)

first one exploded.

second one, sear failed, rear site aperture was junk, barrel off indexed, and developed head space issue within 200 rounds. flish hider was a write off after removing it to shim the gas system that required an entire pack of shims to tighten up. new barrel and bolt are inbound not much norinco left after those go on.

more chinese junk

Soooooo, that would explain all the cosmoline the OP had to clean off his bagged gun?

Well at my local range i seen CanAm proof testing all their m14s ,, a van load !! they were taking them straight outa the bag covered in oil and grease firing a proof load and putting them right back in the bag .. The last one i bought , has a sticker on the box that said ''proof tested with the date'' , mine was in a bag covered in cosmo too .. Trust me I'm not talking out of my ass , most all importers are doing this now for liability reasons after those few barrels blowing off on the recent 2012 shorty imports. ..

My apologies cleveland,i have a bad taste from my last one.Barrel out of index,no support from dealer.Gunsmith checked headspace after 160 rnds, out of spec. After spending half of what i paid for it to rectify, someone else can enjoy it.This thing in front of me with all these buttons brings out the pr##k in me sometimes.

Im guessing the the damage occurred during proof testing ,, i know some Canadian importers are proof testing them with a very hot load before sale now because of recent kabooms ..

Nobody is proof testing a rifle full of shipping/storage oil. Are they?

Sure glad I don't have the job of proof testing 100 Norinco's in a day. The idea of test firing one is enough to keep me from purchasing.

For all those who think they didn't proof test the rifle, that a look at this...

That "proof tested" tag definitely came from the manufacture. It has that typical Chinese font that you would see with their product.

But who knows, it could have been alright when they checked it, and could have been seriously damaged during shipping. I doubt it was that though, or else the stock would have been damaged too. Or maybe all that oil just ain't good for the rifle, everything in moderation right?!....

Inside the box it even came with a check list showing everything it comes with. According to the paper, packer 8 did its job in insuring that i get my rifle, mags, sling and cleaning kit, but inspector J 028 failed his part. They probably need to pay these people more, or give em 12 hour shifts instead of 24 (jokes) ... or else they are just going to be passing these off as airsoft gun...

I'm definitely going to stop by the store this week and see what they can do for me, because as shredder said, it is unacceptable. It definitely raises some safety concerns, I mean I put my off hand near that gas cylinder. If I were to shoot it and I had over looked the crack I might have lost some fingers. So for those who recently bought an m305, do check the rifle, there could be more than just my rifle, but hopefully not.
