Has anyone ever heard of a Canadian company based out of Vancouver called Wartac?

Was talking to some of the guys at my local gun shop and they mentioned Wartac is a new company and are waiting to make a big reveal with their AR's very shortly. There is not one bit of information about these guys on the internet.

Yes I have heard of them. Infact, I saw their AR's. Very affordable ($1100 range) and the quality is.... very clean but I can't explain it to you. It's like the anodizing is NOT as dark as any American AR. Also the ones I saw did not have a muzzle device of anytype just threads at the end. They are up and coming and the guys at the gun show that I heard was making quite a few orders to the States already. I have a feeling that Wartac has entered the market at the right time... and the timing couldn't have been any better.

I snagged a photo from an email that I got from the local shop here. I love the look of it and especially the flared mag wells. Also want to correct their name, it is War Tak not Wartac.

Tagged for interest! Nice looking AR with flared magwell, Canadian made and under $1200? What's not to like?

Unfortunately I sure won't be a beta tester, not after all the issues another Canadian made AR had or the quality issues another Canadian made BCG had.

There is no website as of yet. I guess they are trying to make some big announcement in June or something.

Sketchy sounding I know. But the info they gave to the shop was 95% of the rifle is made here in Canada at their shop and 5% offshore. They took their first prototype with no type of finish on it and dropped 10,000 rnds through it in one day trying to destroy it and they could not.

So, I'm seeing a very plain billet lower with an upper sporting a fairly common looking free float handguard. Wondering if the lower is 6061 or 7075? From first glance I'm tempted to dismiss it as a quick start up to capatalize on the US situation as other posters have suggested. Hopefully there's more to it. Otherwise JAFAR.

And what's wrong with taking advantage of a potential cash cow if your products are of decent quality??!!

If I could sink my capital into a new venture it sure as heck would be in a business that I know as an endless pool of customers...but hey, who likes making a decent product and money on top of it!
