This is fun to watch, but makes me a little apprehensive to shoot my 5 inch version lol. He is using the same ammo i have, 200g Hornady Custom.

Light gun, no comp, heavy ammo.......

Actually, there's nothing to be apprehensive about.
The few extra inches (of the V model) add some weight to help, and the comp does a lot to tame the rest of the recoil.
The only issue I have with mine isn't the recoil per se, but the rotation caused by it. The rubber grip start to rub the heel and palm of my hand. After 20+ rounds they get a little tender. I found wearing a light glove stops the "snake bite" from happening.

(E)

My 4.2" Ruger Redhawk shooting 180gr Rem 44mag is more "painful" on the hand (with the exposed steel frame contacting the palm) than my 460v shooting Hornady 460 magnums...both bare handed.
....GunGuy34, you'll be fine.

Untill ya hold one in your hands, ya cant really get how big that fker is. I was in shock, fking massive lol. Should be a fun shoot.

Wear gloves, padded gloves with gel palm helps.

Wonder how the 460 is compared to 500?

I find my 8 3/8" 44 snaps more than my comp 7.5" 44 and comp 6.5" .50
For sure the comp 500 has a solid kick. Thank goodness for that X frame thick grip.

GG34 - Sure you'll have fun. Is you 460 comp or not, guessing not.

She is right here, above my .44mag.

Take the brake insert out of the 460V and Federal Premium with 275gn Barnes solids will give you a similar result as to that in the video.

The 460 with comp probably snaps less than the 4.2" 44. Recall you're a big guy so with the comp should be fine.

Take the comp off for some real kick.

I still need to load up the 500gn HDY XTP for my .50, heard that is a beast.

Ill post a range report or something once i get a chance to try it, working too much lately and its screwing up my range time .

I find the 4.2 inch 44 mild to be honest. I can shoot it with one hand even. Ive shot a bunch of Hornady and American Eagle 240g hollow points.

I love my 460v....:)
