If someone doesn't want to invest in a ultra sonic cleaner, whats the best easiest way to clean up this greasy mess when it arrives?

I find warm water and dish soap as best to remove that thick coat of grease. Once all that grease is gone, I soak them into very hot water, wait 5-10 minutes and once they are out, water evaporates right away. Need to oil them nicely after this though.

Never leave in hot water more than an hour, seen corrosion spots appear on polished carbon steel material.

I too am curious about the ammo packaging. Can never have enough Chinese crates in the gun room (no wife here to ruin my fun!).

They did come in crates, and crates were placed in cardboxes. I guess they had to do that because crate had all kind of markings which would make it obvious that it contained ammo...

I've used varsol for decades to remove grease. Of course you need to apply your choice of lube/protectant after.

Paint thinner in a tube in the garage was great for cleaning the NP29.

I'm afraid that broken grip is likely to totally destroy it's collectors value!

The Slide fit is pretty tight on mine, not really any sharp edges one thing i did notice is the machining on the inside of the gun is crude real rough. there isn't much pull to the trigger
