I mean "done".
Just received this letter from the board of directors at the Regina wildlife Federation. I had requested the use of a few of their ranges once a month until October for match dates. We've been shooting IDPA at the RWF for about two years now and this happens.
Attention:All International Defensive Pistol Association (IDPA) Shooters
This letter is in response to your e-mail request, dated April 29, 2013, to hold a number of IDPA matches at the Regina Wildlife Federation ranges.
Your request was reviewed by the Regina Wildlife Federation Board of Directors at our May 7, 2013 meeting with the following results:
1. The Board is not in favour of closing the ranges for all the dates you requested. We have over 1,000 members and must consider the impact the range closures would have on the majority of our members.
2. The Board felt we needed to contact the Chief Firearms Office of Saskatchewan to discuss whether our ranges are even certified for IDPA style shooting. Obviously we can’t allow shooting activities that are outside our range permit.
I spoke with the Chief Firearms Office this afternoon and was informed, none of our ranges are approved for IDPA style shooting. Extensive changes to the ranges would be required to get approval to hold IDPA style shooting events. Obviously we can’t host activities that would jeopardize our federal ranges certifications.
EFFECTIVE IMMEDIATELY: In the interest of all RWF members and neighboring property owners, IDPA style shooting and/or shooting matches are not allowed on Regina Wildlife Federation property.
I don't know what this means for the IPSC crowd who have been very helpful letting us use their portion of the grounds.
