Bought a used Henry .22. Lots of pics

I too just placed an order with cabelas, Hopefully its here by the weekend.

I been checking out YouTube videos on these rifles and a few guys have said the triggers to be Very decent... one guy even said SUPER light.... Does anyone care to comment on this?
I'm sure hoping that's the case. Also are these safe to dry fire without damage?

I picked mine up from Cabelas last week. Trigger pull is what I consider about normal, not too stiff, not too light. I had read on rimfirecentral that some had a "rough" trigger pull, but mine is smooth.

"Also are these safe to dry fire without damage?"

Henry recomends that they not be dry fired.

I had that same response from Henry when I emailed them. I checked after a detailed strip and found there is a firing pin stop that will prevent the firing pin from hitting the barrel chamber face. I think Henry answers that way to discourage excessive dry firing which could break the firing pin stop or the firing pin.

Ok thanks guys. I just ask about dry fires cause I notice the guys in the YouTube vids dry fire on pretty much every mag and didn't seem too concerned about it. But thanks again.

Here is my son's Henry .22 I bought used at P&D in Edmonton for $200.00, It had an empty casing stuck in the chamber and put a huge scratch in the receiver cover trying to get it out. So after looking at the scratch for a year now I finally sandblasted the cover and painted it with Brownells Alumi-hyde dark parkerizing grey.

I have used birchwood casey aluminum black on gevarm and henry 22 receivers and it works rather well. The receivers end up more of a grey/black color. I think this has to do with the metal that the receivers are made of.

Well I couldnt resist.

I know it's aluminum but I doubt it will stay that way after you handle a few times.
