Zeiss Conquest or Vortex Viper 3x9x40????

Zeiss Conquest or Vortex Viper 3x9x40?
In my local market they are roughly the same price... I've bought Vortex in the past and been very happy, but this Zeiss sale has me intrigued.. I have a hunting buddy that swears by the Zeiss. This will mount to my first hunting rifle a new Model70 in 3006. I know both are good choices, I'd just like to hear from the masses, your experiences. The Zeiss name leeds me to the Conquest but past experience with Vortex Diamond Back and the warranty leeds me the way of the Viper. Really I'm torn. Tomorrow I will hopefully have the opportunity to look through each one at my local dealer. My concern is the Zeiss might be sold out by then.... I may have to move on it sight unseen... There's a lot of wisdom on this forum. I'd love to tap into it.

I have 2 conquests that are tip top. I also have a Viper HS LR that I love. For my hunting rigs I run the Zeiss, but would be just as happy with the Viper. My vote by a nose is the Zeiss.

The Zeiss ones have been on sale at certain stores because their new Terra3 line is coming out. Im personally looking at the Terra3 2-7x for a new rifle.
 
Zeiss, no question. Vortex are cheaply built and the Zeiss is on sale at a similar price. Would you take a Rolex on sale or a Timex for the same price? Kind of a bad example but it fits your situation.
 
I'm back from ISG's with my Zeiss in hand. Once I got there and looked through both it was pretty obvious.
The low light clarity is fantastic. ISG's in Vancouver still has a few, if you give them a call they'll ship anywhere in Canada the believe they're on sale until they sell out. Looked to be about a dozen left.


I can't wait to mount this baby on my new M70 I just bought from WoodBeef in EE. It's been a good week. ;)

Model70 just arrived today almost a week ahead of schedule. I just finished mounting my new Conquest 3x9 and I'm impressed. The low light abilities of this scope are fantastic, I'm thoroughly impressed in not only the Zeiss but also the new Model70. :sniper:
