Buying/importing barrels

I'm looking at getting a BPS Police model with 18.5" barrel but I was wondering how I can go about getting a 26-28" barrel for it. I tried googling and couldn't find a supplier in Canada.

I went to a gun store in Vancouver and they said they can get it but it will cost $330+tax. Is there a better way or is that the only way?

I understand importation is difficult and requires a lot of paperwork on my end and the exporter's end. Even then, it is still a crapshoot with CBSA. Any help or insight would be greatly appreciated.

Realistically, if you can purchase in Canada for double the "sitting on a US shelf" price you're doing ok.
(Because of all the non-tariff barriers to the transaction).

Export of barrels is specifically controlled, so nothing short of the full ITAR paperwork will permit
lawful US export.

Sad but true.

Prophet River takes care of all the barrels I have bought state side and very reasonable. Must have done close to a dozen for me now over the past few years.
When it is all said and done with all the fees, taxes, shipping etc I can still save at least 25% some more.

$80.00 on $330.00 bbl seems like a waste of time to me considering it will take 3-6 weeks

Must be nice to have extra money to burn. For me 12 or so barrels x 25% ( at least) is a nice piece of change
Plus you think it is any quicker to get one in Canada. The last two I bought were a rem choked 870 16ga and a SP-10.
Could not even find them up here and it would have been no quicker if I ordered one , in fact I was quoted 12 weeks on the sp-10 and they had no idea on when I would see the 16ga if they ordered it in or if they could even get it since it had to be ordered through the warranty dept.
On a BPS as the OP requires there is money to be saved buying state side for sure
To each their own
