NR magazine is awesome. Can't wait!
Theoretically yes. Apparently the cost of the forming equipment - dies and machinery - makes it cost-effective only in large batches, which the CDN market will not support. A US manufacturer, already doing good volume, makes minor changes to support the CDN market, making it more cost-effective.
I bought one mag at $250 (thanks Cancer), then I bought one for $100 (thanks NR). And I will buy 20-50 more depending on NR's availability and time lines.
I wanted them, someone had them, I willingly paid their asking price....don't really see what the problem is with that???
No one forced me to buy them, and I find no fault in a free market with asking a premium for extremely rare, in demand items. I cannot figure out why people don't understand this.
Like Kevin said, don't like the price, don't buy the item. Me, I couldn't give a #### what the asking price was...I wanted some....gimmie gimmie, gimmie.....now!
I also recently bought a KSG at an inflated price for the same reason as above....life's too short to not have what you want.
Gotta pay to play, and I like to play
When Armco? gets more AA Mags they too would be nuts not to charge the premium.
And there you have it. NR Mags would be crazy to not limit supplies, sell them initially at $150 each cause folks are willing to pay to play.
Why was NR Mags silly enough to sell the AA Mags at only $100 a pop to have someone else scalp them at higher prices (gonna pay to play).
Release them in small quantities at premium prices, smart capitalism
When Armtac gets more AA Mags they too would be nuts not to charge the premium.
If you have the only source, charge what you want and you can get away with it.
As soon as competition enters the fray, you need to drop your prices to reasonable levels quickly to survive, or else the next guy who has the same product for 10% less will take all of your buisness and leave you sitting on a hundred thousand worth of useless inventory in a real hurry.
Price it once and price it fair, and customers will return in huge volume, which will make up for the high cost ten fold in the long run.
I won't hold people over the fire for grabbing a hundred extra dollars off of somebody who really wants a product that is not an essential everyday product, nor a commonly available product. You are trying to call people out as if they committed a crime or something. I won't deal with the fellas any different. If I want the product, and if it is a price I am willing to pay, then I will pay it. If it is not a price I am willing to pay, then I will not pay it and I will move on...
I don't get what the disconnect is that you are experiencing from this logic...

If unlimited supply, then yes. There is no plan to limit pre-orders.
If unlimited supply, then yes.
If a limited supply, then maybe some reasonable pre-order limit might be wise to prevent someone from buying the entire supply and reselling at profit? You'd still sell the entire inventory, plus you'd gain a huge number of registered accounts.
Again, there's no plan to limit the pre-order people. There's pleny to go around and we won't have the supply issues we've seen with US products.
