So I finally took my CZ out yesterday after not shooting it since September. I had lots of new gear to go with, new grip, new furniture, new sight, a recoil reducing stock tube, and a BFG 10-speed chest rig.

Every thing was good except for the recoil-reducing stock, though the only reason I got it as it was included in a package deal from Zahal. It seems to reduce the recoil TOO much. Not enough momentum left in the bolt to finish pushing the next round into the chamber. The only way to counter it was to hold my rifle tight against my shoulder and depress the stock spring thus cancelling the reduction.

I remembered to take my GoPro2 with me and got some decent footage. I just wanted to see how my reloads were looking and nit-pick some mistakes (of which there are plenty), I liked the footage so much I just added music, had a beer and started editing. Yes, I look like a tubby guy who likes to pretend to be "military", I don't give a FRAK, I was comfortable, and the bugs weren't.... bugging me! Enjoy! :D

Not sure why you need it, if the recoil bothers you that much get a good brake for it, after that it becomes nearly as soft shooting as an ar. I have shot nearly 1k rounds without the brake, it was fine, now I have a brake on it, it barely kicks at all.

He said he only got it cos it came in a package deal. Major: I'd swap the Fab buffer tube for a mount and actual AR buffer tube. Add a Czech brake or Dlask AKM to keep the muzzle down. I got rid of the brake on mine as it got kinda boring to shoot with virtually no recoil, plus the AKM is simple to clean. Not sure if Dlask still makes them though.

Nice video! Love that song- who is it? I had the same problem with my fab defense recoil reducing stock, I ended up wrapping parachute cord around the small space in between the buttstock and tube so that the spring doesn't compress every shot. Has worked great for me, cost nothing and can be removed in seconds if u want to back.

I have the recoil tube on my 858 and have zero problems with it. Maybe I hold the grip a little tighter, maybe yours is defective, dunno. Are your reloads closer to starting load or max? What are you using (bullet, powder etc)? I also have a muzzle brake on mine, maybe that somehow helps my situation.

By reloads I meant mag changes, the Ammo I was using was 1958 copper wash Russian surplus.

Jay- the camera was in the waterproof wrist mount for the "trippy" mag changes. It's amazing how fast your hand moves for those changes as none of the mag changes were sped up nor slowed.

Electricjesus- you must know me then, I can listen to that song 10-20 times a day and still love it!

We had TVPP testing a recoil reducing stock last week and he didn't have anything like that!

But I believe his Vz58 is a .223 rifle.

We might have to call up Fab Defense and have a chat . . .

If it's the FAB defense model GRLS-16 it has nothing to do with the moving parts or gas system in the rifle.... I'm confused... how is a 858 using a buffer tube?

Be confused no more! http://www.zahal.org/products/colla...-for-vz-58-polymer-version?path_parent=219005
It's a replacement stock with a mil-spec "buffer/stock" tube with an internal spring system designed to "absorb shock/recoil". I didn't overly want it, but it came in a package deal from Zahal.

Nice video I like your fast attack vehicle :)
Ahh, the Battle Buggy! Yes it is handy (BEER... I mean CUP holders!) and runs great, alas I still have need of a quad so I am in the process of putting the Battle Buggy up on Kijiji right now.

Thanks for the video, nicely done sir.

You definately need a cooler attack vehicle.................... Unless thats all they would allow you to drive on the golf course you were shooting at ;)

Never a problem with mine in fact I'd never go back to a fixed one now and I have both a CSA VZ-58 (7.62x39) and a CZ-858 (7.62x39) and both perform well both stocks purchased from Zalhal.
People that shoot my rifles say the recoil is less then a .223 perhaps if yours is a .223 you might want to try a hotter load?
