I live up in the Orillia area and I am looking for recommendations on game farms in central-ish Ontario. I'd be happy with any farm offering pheasants, quail, chukar, etc. I don't own a dog, so I'd have to rent one and that is a major consideration. I'd like to keep the drive reasonable, but I'd be trying for around two hours each way.

I have done a few Google searches and they all look pretty good. Does anyone have some specific experiences that they would like to share?

Can't speak from personal experience but I know they do this at the Galt Sportsmans Club and they will provide the dogs if needed. A few friends of mine have done this at Galt and said they enjoyed it immensely.

Thanks for the information, unfortunately, Galt only holds hunts from November to March. It's close enough that I'd give it a shot, especially the January to March post-season.

I spoke to Mike, and you are right he's quite a nice guy. In July there is only Chukar though. I'm hoping to find a place with Pheasant but that might be impossible in July.

I didn't mention in my original post but I am looking for a place in July because my uncle is coming from Alberta to visit family in the Woodstock area. He's bringing his GSP which he hopes to work a bit while he is here.

Has anyone used Exeter? It's a bit closer to where my Uncle will be staying.

Don't know of anyone that time of year that can offer you pheasants. As there all busy raising up the little pheasants into big pheasants for the fall. The main reason Pine Ridge only will have Chukar. Have had many fine hunts at Pine Ridge and the hunts at Scuggog that Mike used to run there. He runs a first class operation.

Indeed, it seems you are correct. I called around today and it seems that any still around in July would be whatever were left after last years brood. I suppose Chukar and Quail would be fine enough anyways. I guess it comes down to temperature now.
