Hey folks,

Just a quick questions regarding the digital dispersers other there today.
Namely the RCBS Chargemaster, Lyman DPS models, and the Hornady (forget the model name)

I reload my ammo via a lee perfect powder and an older RCBS 10/10 scale.

Each round thrown is measuered on the 10/10 and trickled up, due to the accuracy issues with the "perfect powder measure".
I reload for accuracy in my rifles, however I need to get my velocity spread down a bit. .25-.5 MOA is great a 100yds, but stretching it out I'm seeing the issues with the velocity spreads.

So, I decided to try digital. I have heard horror stories on all of them, but also head some really great stuff on all of them. So I guess, Im looking for first hand information. Price is a factor, if keep my eyes open, i can snag a Lyman on ebay for $100ish, Hornady $200ish and RCBS $300ish. Was going to pull the trigger on the Lyman today, but decided to seek some advise from you good folks! :>)

A digital scale will not bring your velocity spreads down. Using the proper powder/bullet/seating depth combination will.

If you are still set on a digital scale I would get the RCBS. I use one myself but still double check on my 5-10 beam scale especially with smaller granule powders such as Varget and Benchmark where 5 granules make up a 10th of a grain. With larger powders such as 4831SC and RL17 I simply let the scale do its thing as it is 3 granules per 10th of a grain.

Natchez in the US usually has the RCBS model for about $250.

Natchez is running $290. I would rather pay the $320 at midwayusa and get 500rds of free bullets via coupon or $50 rebate.

Sounds like a plan I will also pick up a Bullet Comparator set. Right now im measuring OAL not the ogive, that might help a little bit. OAL seems consistant with the 70gr berger VLDs just off the lands. The spread is running 30-40fps with varget. It is a hotter load @ well over 3000 fps, but functons flawlessly in mine.

Im wondering if my beam scale is a bit inconsistant. I had serious questions with it last year after I bought it, then I cleaned up the crystals and sharpened the knives on it. After that it was more repeatable, it was great in fact.

The rebate is from RCBS and not MidwayUSA.
You still qualify for the rebate from Natchezss.
Secondly MidwayUSA will not under any circumstances sell to Canadians.

They can sell to canadians, they cannot ship the stuff to canada. So if you have american address, you are good to go. As far as natchez, since it is under $300, you dont get the same discount.

No they won't send to a US address if you try to pay with a Canadian credit card or even a Canadian money order.
Ask me how I know that one.
To get my press I needed to send a USPS money order and have the press shipped to my cousin in NJ who in turn then shipped it to me.

It doesn't need to be $300.00 for one item. I bought some RCBS decapping pins and an RCBS neck brush which brought me over the $300.00 mark in RCBS products. I bought mine last year when you could also send in 25 sleeves of CCI primers for an additional $25.00 savings.
Unfortunately they didn't have the 500 bullet offer or I would have loved to get 500 .45 gold dots for only $0.10 each.
