they sucks for me anyways

This topic has most likely been covered before many times. But I will outline what I am looking for. I am only wanting to replace the front post. I have been looking at the KNS offerings.

Would like to hear some opinions on these, which post offers the best improvement in acquisition, installation, fitment... etc. Or suggestions from other brands offered.

I understand some prefer an aperture sight, but I am proficient with a tangent leaf and I do not like the current options available on the market. Tech Sights = clean and re-zero. Williams and Mojo = fixed yardage.

they all fit the sight adjustment tool ? I would personally go with the medium ball one.

They should work with the tool, but don't quote me on that. I do not use the sight tool myself (broke two of them). I made a elevation tool from an old screw driver and I use the trusted brass punch and deadweight hammer.

I am thinking the .052 (medium) traditional. Or perhaps the smaller .034 traditional.

Don't know how you would line up the sights with the ball post... I guess the center of the ball lined up with the top edge of the rear leaf?

... If I can find someone who will export it.

Clean and then have to re zero with tech sights?
that is not a problem if they are installed according to instructions.
have you tried them?
regarding your question, I would go with the second from right.

On the other hand, I use a tech sight and williams fire sight and they work very wiell.

You can taper the front sight yourself. The threaded end is (carefully) chucked in a variable speed drill (run it slow), clamped in a vise and a flat file to make the taper.

Leave a biit of a land on the tip and finish at maximum speed with emery cloth or wet/dry 180 grit

Degrease with acetone, gun blue and mobil1.

No worries - glad it was helpful

According to BC's website, Super Blue gives a darker finish and works better on hardenable steels and steel alloys.

^^^^ Now there is a good idea. I think I'm going to try that. Thanks.

I have BC Perma Blue, what is the difference from Super Blue?

What about Lyman sights? Does anyone have any experience with the Lyman 66SKS sight? I am interested in that because you keep the original take down lever on the rifle. I just bought a bunch of corrosive ammo, so I will have to break the gun down each time.

Nice work. Can't believe no one else has commented on your idea. It is cheap and effective. Standards SKS front post covers 8" wide target at 100 yards. Teck front sight is about half as wide as normal sight. It has a tapered base topped with small post. Costs about $20 in Canada. Your idea should be put in "DIY for Red Rifles".

Yeah...I just got tired of having my paper plate targets obscured by the front sight post, so something had to be done. Can't take credit for the idea, though, as I'm sure I'd read about it somewhere on the intertrons at some point in time. It's a standard operation on all my SKS keepers.
