Tanfoglio Appeal - Back in stock.

Update: The RCMP have notified me that the Appeal will be classified around the end of March +/- a couple weeks.
Assuming that they rule favorably, the delivery dates would be start of June.

Nothing yet. They said end of march to mid April. I check FRT every second day to see the ruling. Trust me, I want these things as much as you guys do.
I'll check in with the RCMP again on the 15th if I haven't seen movement by then.

You know what. I want to take a hack saw to the thing and push the upper back and put an adjustable thin adjustable stock. Paint some parts and add a LED round counter then I'll almost have M41-A pulse rifle from the movie Aliens XD

I think I've been playing too much Aliens: Colonial Marine's lately.

Thanks FV for keeping up on this. I am sad it wont be .17 hmr.. (if that changes pm me for payment).

I am interested in .22 lr... it would be fun :)

From the RCMP...

The Tanfoglio Appeal Rifle inspection is scheduled to commence 2013-04-15. I estimate completion by 2013-04-30.

So we're close - keep your fingers crossed and keep in mind that once it is classified (and hopefully favorably) I'm looking at about 8-10 weeks for the first ones to land here from Italy.

Thanks Dorian. It is a great time for an update.

The RCMP ruled the Appeal to be NON_RESTRICTED a little over a week ago.
I placed an order with Tanfoglio for an initial quantity of units for sale; in both 22 Mag and 22LR.
I was waiting to confirm a delivery date.

The retail price for them will be $538. Extra 10 round mags will be $25.00

We will have the gun listed on our website by Wednesday night and will be accepting deposits for the first shipment, due late September.

To answer the previous comment regarding 17HMR - Tanfoglio was going to make the gun in 17HMR, but according to them,
"We don't produce the Appeal rifle in cal. 17HMR because the ammunition available today are not "safe" enough and we read that some rifles chambered in this caliber go to fire automatically after firing some rounds due to the high temperature in the barrel chamber (by the way it never happened to us during our firing tests with this ammo but we have tested only one type of ammunition as they are not available in Italy) and before having any problem we preferred not to produce the rifle in this caliber."
This is on par with other manufacturers choosing not to offer a semi-automatic version for 17HMR (ie. Magnum Research)

There are vids on YouTube.

Americans commonly refer to this gun as the EAA Appeal. The mag appears unique to Tanfoglio. It may be common with the Tanfoglio Force in 22 but I cannot be certain.

Maybe comparing the exploded parts diagrams for the two guns will reveal the same part number?
