Well, I had a few spare parts and some free time for my hobby. I had picked up a couple of barreled #4 receivers a while back. One was in decent shape so I rebuilt it to its former Faz glory. The other one was in rough shape. The bore was shot and the receiver was rusted and pitted so I set it aside thinking, "paper weight"
I spotted a very nice #5 barrel with flash hider on the EE and picked it up for a decent price. I rebarreled the receiver and just finished putting it together last night.
The receiver needed to be polished on the bolt bearing surfaces on the sides. Head spaced fine with my stock of bolt heads. The butt and forestock was from a sporter. I carved them up and the upper hand guard was from some kind of Mauser. I carved that up to almost a #5 looking guard. I found a lightened bolt at a local gun show and picked it up for a very good price (it needed attention)
I finished the furniture in oil and high temp flat black paint on the receiver.
I took it to the range today and the only problem is that even with the shortest front blade it is at 600 on the rear sight to zero at 100 yards. I need to work on that. The rear sight is a #4 but they are calibrated the same.
After that all I need is a butt plate assembly and It is done
